The Opportunity

Abt seeks a qualified Systems Administrator responsible for providing cloud infrastructure development, maintenance, monitoring, and security. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, experience deploying and managing solutions cloud environments in AWS and Azure and extensive experience with Linux administration and some Windows servers.

Core Responsibilities

• Cloud provisioning, maintenance, and monitoring - setup and configure cloud infrastructure including but not limited to load balancers, virtual servers, storage, and databases using IaC tools.

• Operational support - manage configuration of systems, perform troubleshooting, manage access control of all systems, review system and application logs, manage backup, manage patching, perform system and application upgrades, tune and optimize systems and perform system recovery.

• Systems and Monitoring - perform daily performance and availability monitoring of systems, verify integrity and availability of all systems and key processes, and provide reporting as requested.

• Security & compliance - perform incident response, remediate internal and external vulnerability scans, remediate internal and external penetration scans, audit support, perform system hardening in compliance with FISMA Moderate, CIS level 1/2, and MITRE, NIST cybersecurity frameworks.

• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.

• Contribute to and maintain system standards including as-built documentation and technical diagrams.

• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.

What We Value

• Bachelor's degree (computer science, IT, engineering preferred) and 2 - 4 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience; 4+ years of experience preferred.

• 1-3+ years' experience working in a systems administration role

• 1-3+ years' experience with AWS

• 1-3+ years' experience with Azure

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $65,000 - $90,000 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
