    Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a Sustaining Project Engineer who will support evaluation, testing, and implementation of changes for in-service production aircraft wheel & brake programs. You will be tasked with supporting multiple projects with duration ranging from a few months to a few years while also supporting resolution of day-to-day manufacturing and field issues that arise. You will also collaborate with multiple sites across the US and will interact with global customers. You will engage with Quality, Supply Chain and Manufacturing/Operations. In addition, you will work with the Carbon/Carbon composite materials.

    • Position is working onsite at our Troy OH facility.

    • Relocation assistance is available.

    Primary responsibilities

    • Execute verification and validation test plans for proposed changes

    • Coordinate among manufacturing sites and internal groups to gather information, meet milestones, and drive projects to completion.

    • Make changes associated with cost reductions, process improvements, or design modifications related to wheel & brake components.

    • Procure test hardware and materials, oversee testing, analyze results, and document results in engineering reports.

    • Maintain drawings, specifications, and BOM's for in-service programs

    • Prepare change approval documents for all drawing and specification changes

    • Assist with evaluation and resolution of day-to-day manufacturing and field issues that arise, including disposition of non-conformances (MRB)

    • Communicate and present technical data to internal and external customers

    • Able to travel up to 10% domestically when circumstances permit

    • Perform other duties as required

    Basic Qualifications

    • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience

    • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

    • Experience reading and understanding mechanical drawings

    • Knowledge of basic GD&T principles

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Engineering project management experience

    • Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and methodologies

    • Aerospace industry experience

    • Strong written (especially technical writing) and verbal communication skills

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software

    The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
