Staff Accountant

Description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in Delray Beach, Florida. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of the daily accounting, maintaining controls over the General Ledger, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of business transactions. This role will report directly to the Controller and work collaboratively across the organization to uphold and enforce Company policies and procedures. Responsibilities

• Prepare daily and monthly journal entries for various accounts such as prepaid expenses, accounts payable, accrued expenses, and payroll to ensure proper recording of transactions on financial statements.

• Utilize accounting software to prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of the financial statements.

• Maintain the fixed asset system, which includes preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of general ledger to fixed assets system.

• Assist with the month-end closing process, conduct research, investigate variances, and process entries to correct discrepancies.

• Prepare external monthly financial reporting package, including related compliance certificates in accordance with governing agreements.

• Research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with Company policies and accounting standards in various areas including revenue recognition, leases, acquisitions, and other topics.

• Assist with the preparation of the year-end financial statements; prepare schedules and other information requested by outside auditors for the annual audit of the company.

• Support the continuous improvement of an adequate internal control system that scales with the growth of the business.

• Perform other related projects as assigned.

Requirements - Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Proven experience in the role of a Staff Accountant or similar is essential

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Excellent skills in Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger maintenance, and Journal Entries preparation

• Extensive experience in Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in using accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing duties

• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
