SQL DBA

Description

The candidate will be hired onto one of several scrum teams that are being tasked to complete several projects during the 2021 fiscal year. The large projects include: - SQL 2008 end of Life upgrade - SQL 2012 End of Life upgrade - Business Objects Data Services (BODS) Upgrade and replacement * a Sr high Level SQL DBA will be hired to help complete the enterprise Always-On implementation* Daily Job Duties will include: - Identify performance issues and offer proactive solutions and performance tuning. - Perform installations, configurations, upgrades, and migrations. - Responsible for operation and support of production database environments. - Develop and maintain documentation and standards. - Adhere to company standards and best practices. - Maintain high availability of databases. - Monitors database servers and alerts. - Responsible for maintaining data integrity, including backup strategies and periodic database consistency checks. - Work with developers to proactively optimize SQL queries. - Facilitate SSRS and SSIS package deployments. - Perform database builds and deployments. - Performs storage and capacity planning. - Configure and monitor data replication. - Maintain security. - Follow change management established policies and procedures, adhere to company standards and best practices. - Requires 24x7 availability for operational support.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years direct experience managing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server version (2000-2016) - Knowledge and experience in Database Performance, Tuning and Optimization (PTO) - Excellent knowledge in system views and system stored procedures using T-SQL. - Hands on experience with database security, auditing, backup/restore, DR and high availability - Experience with data partitioning, indexing best practices, resource governor, extended events - Experience with DTS and SSIS Packages. - Experience in installation and configuration of SQL Server in Virtualized Environments - Experience in PowerShell a plus - Experience in Solarwinds Monitoring and DPA (Ignite) a plus - Experience in financial services is a plus. - Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. - Knowledge of Incident/Problem Management and is familiar with ITIL processes in a critical production environment.
