    Mon-Fri 7:00a-3:30p; Rotating through the Imaging Center, Heart and Vascular and Vascular Surgery Office

    General Summary

    Performs routine and advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures at an intermediate specialist skill level.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic ultrasound examinations such as carotid, aortoiliac, lower extremity, renal artery systems and fistula, as well as lower extremity venous insufficiency studies

    • Maintains exceptional patient care

    • Responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and processes

    • Effectively operates machinery and prepares preliminary interpretations on the presence or absence of any abnormalities in the studies. Venous ablation and/or other interventional guidance experience is a strong plus.

    • Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.

    • Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.

    • Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.

    • Selects and operates equipment as needed to perform required exams.

    • Maintains equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.

    • Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.

    • Knowledge and use of digital image storage system PACS.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education

    • Associates Degree Required

    Work Experience

    • 2 years Relevant experience Required

    Licenses

    • Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and

    • Registered Vascular Technologist Upon Hire Required

    Courses and Training

    • Accredited program in ultrasound technology Upon Hire Required
