    Job Description

    The Engineering VIE will provide support to engineering teams by assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of fixturing and tooling used in the production and new product development processes. This VIE will focus heavily on improving efficiency, reducing downtime, and implementing cost-effective solutions.

    PROJECTS AND DELIVERABLES

    • Sandblast fixture improvements

    • Part transport carts

    • Troubleshooting fixture and tooling issues

    Job Requirements

    SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED/DEVELOPED IN POSITION

    • Project management skills, including development of project scope, timeline, identification of needed resources, and interim and final goals.

    • Team work and collaboration - this position is required to interact with employees at all levels within Safran Aerospace Composites

    • Proficiency in the following software: CATIA, CAD and Solidworks.

    • Knowledge and ability to apply GD&T tolerencing.

    • LEAN Manufacturing concepts and 6-Sigma techniques.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Fixture updates and maintenance, including documentation of the process

    • Tooling to support production processes (process, quality, and HSE improvements)

    • Tooling to support work station design improvements

    • Support control of fixture drawings and models

    REQUIRED COMPETENCIES - Education/Knowledge/Skills

    • 2 years' experience in the use of Solidworks and/or AutoCAD.

    • Basic understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T tolerencing.

    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.

    • Ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
