  • With a specific lens of health equity, this role is responsible for identifying gaps in best practice implementation and outcomes for various demographic subgroups of our patient populations and lead quality improvement initiatives to close these gaps. These projects will primarily focus on gaps impacting strategic initiatives, core clinical processes, and critical patient care functions within UVA Health Children's. This role works collaboratively with leadership, clinical teams, and various staff to identify opportunities for improvement and facilitate implementation of improved processes, workflows, and clinical practices. Supports the continued improvement of quality at UVA Health Children's.

    • Provides effective Project Management/Leadership to ensure completion of UVA Health Children's Health Equity/Quality projects and programs to meet goals and strategic objectives.

    • Facilitates training and education of quality and patient safety initiatives for Children's Hospital staff and affiliated team members.

    • Supports data collection, chart abstraction, and support for various registries, projects, and benchmarking organizations.

    • Serves as subject matter expert and liaison between UVA Children's clinical and administrative teams and external registries, benchmarking organizations, and peers at other children's hospitals.

    • Clinical Expertise: Demonstrates clinical expertise in specific patient population(s) related to projects managed.

    • Technical Execution: Demonstrates technical execution in collection, verification, and analysis of data. Knowledgeable in basic quality improvement and project management methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, etc.

    • Leadership & Training/Development: Provides leadership and training/development to project team members.

    • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Communicates effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel. Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to translate clinical and analytic information to varied audiences for actionable response.

    • Professionalism: Well-organized, able to prioritize and manage multiple large-scale project simultaneously. Forward-thinking, personally motivated, and strong attention to detail.

    • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

    Position Compensation Range: $70,595.20 - $112,944.00 Annual

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education: Graduate of an accredited program of clinical specialty; i.e. RN Radiography Pharmacy Social Work or Therapy Services. RN preferred.

    Experience: 3 years of clinical quality or regulatory experience required; clinical quality or regulatory experience in transplant services preferred.

    Licensure: Must hold current License of Specialty area. RN license preferred.
