Position Overview

Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating people for mental, emotional, behavioral, educational, and developmental disorders.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform psychological assessments, testing, and evaluation

• Provide diagnosis based on assessments, testing, and evaluation

• Develop and recommend treatment plans based on patient needs and diagnosis

• Provide referrals when necessary for additional care, evaluation, or treatment

• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other professionals to provide the best care possible

• Coordinate with case managers and psychiatrists about care

• Complete all necessary clincial documentation in an accurate and timely manner

• Ensure all services are completed according to relevant ethical and professional standards of care

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of related experience in psychology

• Ability to pass a thorough background check

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations

• Strong working knowledge of diagnostic techniques and a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities

§ License history in all states, commonwealth or territories

§ Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number (copy of certificate)

§ Virginia Pharmacy Certificate

§ Hospital Privileges

§ Name of hospitals

§ Scope of practice privileges

§ Scope of coverage (financial limits and procedures covered)

§ Malpractice history

§ Pending claims

§ Successful claims against the physician either judged or settled

§ Contractor's federal tax identification numbers

§ Curriculum Vitae (CV) including a complete employment history and explanation for any gaps in employment. The Agency reserves the right to conduct reference checks and background investigations on any potential employee of the program

§ Previously successful or currently pending challenges to any licensure or any registration or voluntary relinquishment of such licensure/registration

§ Voluntary or involuntary termination of medical staff privileges or voluntary or involuntary limitation/reduction or loss of clinical privileges at another hospital

§ Involvement in a professional liability action, present or past, and any final judgment or settlements of any such action

§ Basic Lift Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (copy of certificate)

§ Be able to provide evidence, on an annual basis, of a current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) or evaluation of no PPD reactor

§ Be able to provide evidence of any additional immunizations upon request
