    Job Description

    1) Occupational Summary:

    Under close supervision, the Program Purchasing intern will work in the Strategic Purchasing department and be involved in numerous ongoing initiatives. The intern will have the opportunity to participate as a valuable member of the team by working directly with an assigned mentor and other members of the department to complete assigned projects. The intern will gain a broad understanding of program purchasing and how it leverages both program management and purchasing skills to support the bottom-line of the business.

    2) Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):

    A) Compare and Contrast the cost of standard seats of programs within each Product Line

    B) Develop a comprehensive program purchasing task checklist based on the program phase.

    C) Develop a checklist to comprehensively review the OAF and compare it to the costed BOM (Bill of Materials).

    D) Pull data from systems and analyze data.

    E) Look over blue prints and drawings.

    F) Attend meetings related to the project or department.

    G) Assist on special projects and other duties as assigned

    Job Requirements

    3) Qualification Requirements:

    A) Knowledge and Skills:

    i) Excellent oral and written communication skills

    ii) Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically excel and PowerPoint

    iii) Highly collaborative with a demonstrated track record of success in a team environment

    iv) Strong attention to detail

    v) Self starter

    B) Education and Experience:

    i) Actively enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in a related field of study such as Business, Supply Chain or Finance majors as a junior or senior level student. Senior level preferred.

    C) Competencies:

    Acts in accordance with company values and related competencies.

    D) Communication Skills:

    Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

    E) Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to solve problems and think strategically.

    Physical Demands

    This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job.
