Job Summary and Qualifications

The Maintenance Mechanic is skilled in repair and maintenance of building structures. Job involves proficiency in several trades, most commonly general repair, minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work, painting and carpentry. An employee in this class is responsible for performing tasks in accordance with standard practices of the building and construction trade. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for assisting in departmental/hospital projects, as his or her skills are needed. The Maintenance Mechanic will be familiar with the mission, vision, and value statements of the facility.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED equivalent, three or more years experience in building maintenance or construction.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

Demonstrates the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the Competency Validation Checklist(s). Meets mutually agreed upon performance goals/objectives established annually as listed on the Performance Management Plan.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be flexible, regular scheduled 8-hour shifts, weekends, holidays required. Exposed to equipment and staff noise, alarm sounds and interruptions. Equipment to be used includes a computer, general office equipment, tools and equipment related to the Building Maintenance profession.

REPORTS TO:

Maintenance Supervisor or Systems Coordinator.

These include cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics/spine, rehabilitation and women's services. We are an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI. We are a Primary Stroke Center.
