    Network Administrator

    KBR is actively seeking a Network Administrator to join our innovative team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of our network architecture.

    Description of Job Tasks and Responsibilities

    The scope of this position is to configure, secure and maintain network systems and services, to include hardware and virtual environments for on-premises systems. The candidate should have experience with hyperconverged infrastructures and the ability to maintain the systems in accordance with DoD standards and industry best practices.

    The primary responsibilities for the position are to oversee the performance and reliability of the network infrastructure, update existing network resources and configure new network devices to ensure the networks operate efficiently and meet business requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in network administration by managing switches, routers, next-generation firewalls, VoIP Call Manager, virtual LANs, encryption devices, developing and maintaining network drawing, and scripting.

    Experience With/Knowledge of:

    • DoD and NIST policies, standards and guidelines for maintaining network infrastructure.

    • Knowledge of networking tools used for monitoring network usage, capacity, performance, and security.

    • Configure and manage switches, routers, and firewalls to optimize network performance.

    • Implement advanced switching features, VLANs, VIP, and static routes.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network hardware and software.

    • Deployment and management of next-generation firewalls for robust network security.

    • Monitor and enforce firewall policies, intrusion prevention, and secure shell (SSH) configurations.

    • Knowledge of Windows and Red Hat servers in virtual environments

    • Emerging security threats to ensure the firewall infrastructure's resilience.

    • Implement, troubleshoot, and optimize VoIP configurations, ensuring high-quality voice communication.

    • Create detailed network diagrams to document and illustrate network topologies and maintain accurate and up-to-date visual representations of the network architecture.

    • Implement, manage, and optimize hyperconverged systems for maximum performance.

    • Optimize network performance, scalability, and reliability through proactive maintenance.

    • Collaborate with Security team to align network solutions with business objectives.

    • Maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.

    • Generate regular reports on network performance, security, and utilization

    • Adheres to change management processes and procedures.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems or Computer Engineering or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

    • Minimum of 7 years of experience with DoD networks and installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a mission-critical LAN/WAN related work experience

    • Candidate must hold an active Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance.

    • Possess a valid certification that meets or exceeds DoD 8140 intermediate foundational requirements for the Network Operations Specialist with intermediate foundational qualifications to include CEH, CFR, Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ or GSEC.

    • Application of network hardening techniques using current DISA STIGs

    • Maintain documentation for support, usage, and compliance for applications/services

    • Must have good oral and written communication skills

    Desired

    • Experience working with government, contractors, industry, and customers to provide network collaborative services.

    • Possess administrative, organizational, and computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Outlook).

    • Ability to work quickly and in a potentially high-stress environment.
