    Boeing Laser and Electro-Optical Systems (LEOS) , part of the Boeing Phantom Works Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems (SIWS) Program in Albuquerque, New Mexico is looking for highly skilled and adaptable Mechanical Design Engineer to perform design, analysis and test of cutting edge precision electro-optical systems. The selected Engineers would work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting the development of both directed energy and electro-optical systems.

    Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Experience, Lead or Senior Engineer.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Use CAD for mechanical packaging

    • Assist and Collaborate with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

    • Collaborating with peers on design

    • Presenting designs to management, senior leaders and customers

    • Hands on hardware integration

    • Limited travel (less than 15%) may be required

    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

    • 3 or more years' experience in an engineering role

    • Willing to travel domestically as needed

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • (Level 4) 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    • (Level 5) 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Experience with electro-optic development programs

    • Experience with systems engineering and integration of complex systems

    • Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools such as Hypermesh, Inspire, FEMAP, ANSYS and other industry FEA tools

    • Experience technical analysis (i.e., Structural, Thermal, Dynamics, etc.)

    • Experience working with Solid Works, NX, Creo, Teamcenter or other industry standard CAD and PDM tools

    Typical Education/Experience:

    (Level 3)

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    (Level 4)

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    (Level 5)

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Relocation:

    This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

    Summary pay range for (experienced, level 3): 95,200 - 128,800

    Summary pay range for (lead, level 4): 115,600 - 156,400

    Summary pay range for (senior, level 5): 136,850 - 185,150
