    PURPOSE OF JOB:

    The POC Clinical Research Laboratory Associate (CRLA) is an experienced clinical laboratorian with a passion for detail and is patient-centric. The POC CRLA will assist in performing POC clinical evaluations among other activities as outlined below.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Aid in the various point of care product development projects for ANTECH laboratories

    • Aid in the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical evaluation protocols including data collection, data entry, and data analysis.

    • Construct and maintain SOPs for POC analyzers under evaluation

    • Provide timely feedback concerning strengths and weaknesses of products under evaluation

    • Assist in developing content for sales and technical support training program for POC analyzer portfolio to include, but not limited to webinars, in-person training, e learning, and training videos.

    • Interface with manufacturing partners on POC analyzers under evaluation

    • Obtain samples for the clinical research laboratory

    • Clinical case library filing and database management

    • Shipment of samples to the various reference laboratories for comparison to POC results

    • Interface with veterinarians, clinical pathologists, and veterinary technicians to ensure specific needs are considered and optimize the information that POC analyzers are providing

    • Develop and maintain QC program for analyzers in the ANTECH's clinical research laboratory

    • Maintain clinical research instrumentation including maintenance and troubleshooting

    • Inventory management of the clinical research laboratory

    • Assist in the development of SOPs for field implementation of analyzers at customer sites

    • Assist in training users for trials and pilot studies

    • Advise on clinical application important to the veterinary market and their use in practice

    • Other responsibilities, as needed

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Minimum of 5 years in a veterinary laboratory-testing environment

    • Knowledge in all major disciplines within laboratory medicine to include hematology, chemistry, immunoassay, urinalysis, serology and parasitology

    • Analytical thinker with attention to detail

    • Ability to manage multiple projects with high level of organizational skills

    • Desire to see continuous improvement in processes and programs

    • Ability to work as a team member and independently

    • Must possess strong project management, and problem-solving skills

    • Excellent interpersonal skills to provide guidance and feedback

    • Proficient Computer skills - Comfortably and confidently use a computer and specialized software. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, AND PowerPoint

    • Limited overnight travel may be required

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Extensive sitting, phone, and computer use

    • Extend and reach with hands, arms, use hands, and fingers

    • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch

    • May be required to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs.

    • Specific vision abilities are required, including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    • Ability to communicate effectively via the telephone, in writing, and in-person

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The associate will primarily work in a typical laboratory environment, including lab equipment, computers, and overhead lighting. Temperature extremes will be minimal to nonexistent.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The associate will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, database management, email, and the Internet. The associate frequently requires a calculator, fax, copy machine, and phone system. The associate must occasionally use media equipment such as a projector, PowerPoint, and Teams/Zoom.
