  • Amentum is seeking an Electrical Engineer at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Virginia to assist with systems and technical engineering services.

The Electrical Engineer will work as an integral part of the team, as well as with end-users, management, and sponsors, throughout the design, integration and iterative test of prototypes and tactical systems.

    Electrical Engineer Responsibilities Include:

    • Supporting remote diagnostic capabilities

    • Evaluating requirements and and analyze best methods of implementation for cost, timeline and functionality. Present findings in design reviews.

    • Creating embedded hardware designs in both firmware and hardware

    • Designing electrical components and assemblies, including tactical components, test assets, and system interfaces.

    • Generating circuit card layout based on prototype schematic designs.

    • Supporting troubleshooting and testing activities ranging from component-level to integrated system level.

    • Working closely with a team of engineers, analysts and technicians to develop, build, refine, and deliver engineering prototypes.

    • Applying Military Standards in design, as well as cable fabrication and testing techniques.

    • Maintaining design documentation through project Configuration Management processes.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline OR equivalent experience.

    • Minimum three (3) years' experience in embedded hardware design.

    • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance (at a minimum, must receive/be approved for an interim Secret security clearance in order to start) Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.

    • Demonstrated proficiency in PCB and Wire Harness design using electronic computer-aided design (ECAD) tools.

    • Experience in use of electronic test equipment in testing and troubleshooting of circuit card assemblies.

    Preferred:

    • BS or Masters in EE with a minimum of Five (5) years of professional experience, including specialized in DOD or related programs.

    • Expertise of development languages such as C/C++ Demonstrated proficiency with ECAD software such as Altium and OrCAD.

    • Familiarity with Mechanical Computer-aided Design (MCAD) programs such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
