    Job Summary and Qualifications

    As a Dietary Technician at our facility you will have the opportunity to be both a nutrition professional and a caregiver, providing delicious and nutritious meals for patients, staff, and others when they need it most. You will be joining a hard-working and compassionate team that is so vital for the day-to-day functions of our hospital. In this role:

    • You will screen patients for nutrition status and assist in the development and implementation of nutrition plans.

    • You will be responsible for provision of correct, appropriate meal trays for patients and ensure that quality standards are met.

    • You will record daily dietary data for patients and provide pertinent diet information to Dietitians regarding the special needs of patients.

    • You will monitor menus for food and drug interactions.

    • You will demonstrate knowledge of medical/healthcare error reporting and use an interdisciplinary collaborative team approach to patient care planning.

    • You will provide direction and leadership to Food & Nutrition Services Associates on weekends or when supervisor is absent.

    • You will ensure client, customer service/satisfaction by providing efficient, friendly customer service and modeling/promoting that level of service to other team members.

    Qualifications

    • Food Handlers Permit or ServSafe Certification required.

    • Experience working with modified diets in an institutional setting.

    • Technical dietary/nutrition coursework preferred.

    • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
