    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Infection Prevention Coordinator, along with the Infection Prevention Director, will assist in coordinating and implementing the Infection Prevention Plan of Portsmouth Regional Hospital. This includes using effective guidelines and methods to identify, control and prevent healthcare associated infections, which leads to continuous quality improvements for all patients, visitors and staff. Success will be determined by the minimization of the spread of communicable and transmittable infections as well as hospital acquired infections within the hospital.

    What qualifications you will need:

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or other health care related field preferred

    • Working knowledge of Performance Improvement tools and data abstraction, analysis and reporting

    • Proficiency with Joint Commission/CMS quality measure definitions

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook with ability to become proficient and independent with facility data collection software

    • At least 1 year in a clinical field
