  • Job Summary

    The Configuration Management Technical Lead (CML) will serve on the Enterprise Configuration Management team, who is responsible for the centralized process governance and ownership of the Clients Configuration Management program. The Configuration Management program is responsible for ensuring the creation of, adherence to, and reporting of deviations from configuration baselines for all of the Client's IT owned assets.

    The individual will work alongside the Configuration Management Process Lead to create governance around the necessary data management necessary to achieve process governance requirements and goals. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for assisting in the decision-making process of any and all tools that would support the Clients overall fleet management strategy (i.e. Automation & Orchestration tooling such as Ansible, Puppet, etc.). This individual will also be responsible for working with our Asset Management and Automation Engineering teams to ensure that proper alignment of Onboard/Offboard process with necessary tooling to create "secure from the start" devices. This is not an engineering role, but would need to be well versed in IT Engineering to be successful.

    This role requires the individual to be a leader, self-motivated and tenacious, thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and drive tasks to completion on agreed schedules. As the Configuration Management Technical Lead, you will bring value by understanding the Client's overarching roadmap initiatives, such that s/he can assist the team in the appropriate decomposition and prioritization of work. To be successful the candidate must be driven, well-organized, and give strong attention to detail.

    Job Description

    • Manage the day-to-day governance activities of the Configuration Management process for in-scope IT Assets to ensure compliance with the Clients standards

    • Develop, implement, and mature configuration management practices, solutions, and controls to support the Configuration Management roadmap

    • As a stakeholder in the Configuration Management 2.0 Program, provide technical subject matter expertise to the Program Manager and in-scope platform resources to ensure the goals of the program are delivered on-time

    • Evaluate/onboard additional platforms to increase coverage in the enterprise and build a roadmap for 2024 and beyond

    • Improve and maintain baseline approval processes in partnership with InfoSec architects and risk partners

    • Provide guidance to IT Asset owners on drift reporting and mitigation processes

    • Mature ServiceNow workflows, data structures, and overall data availability

    • Mature and optimize governed processes with emphasis on automation

    • Mature reporting including depth of data as well as breadth of the process footprint to drive governance, risk metrics, security analysis, process efficiency, modeling, and controls

    • Mature key performance indicators (KPI), and critical success factors (CSF) in alignment with the business needs and leadership vision

    • Increase governed process visibility through dashboards and other presentations of metrics (including KPIs and CSFs) for measuring compliance with controls and standards

    • Continually evaluates standards and controls for fit and compliance prior to scheduled reviews and testing

    • Directs, prioritizes, and schedules audits of the process; ensures that any corrective actions identified are carried out

    • Ensures that relevant CI data in CMDB is maintained by following approved Configuration Management processes, procedures, and control compliance, highlighting anomalies and errors and takes appropriate action

    • Coordinates Configuration Management issues with other departments when needed

    • Provides training to IT Asset owners in support of Configuration Management

    • Champion process improvements, simplification, and automation across the enterprise

    • Engages with other teams to keep an up-to-date view on their objectives and activities

    Required Skills

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to form strong relationships

    • Experience of IT service management principles including management of configuration items (CIs)

    • Good understanding of CIS Benchmarks and how they relate to security configurations/baselines

    • Must be detail oriented, analytical, and self-directed to make decisions supported by thorough data analysis

    • Experience of cloud technologies, in particular AWS

    • Bachelor's degree in an IT field of study

    • ITIL certified

    • 8+ years of experience in IT with infrastructure background

    • 5+ years of experience in Configuration Management

    • 5+ years of experience in ITIL process

    • 3+ years of ServiceNow experience

    • 3+ years of experience in Agile practices

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience in IT with infrastructure background

    • 8+ years of experience in Configuration Management

    • Data Lake experience/exposure, especially in AWS

    • ServiceNow development/design experience, API/REST

    • Current or held certifications such as ITIL, IAITAM, and Agile/Scrum

    • Ability to develop and refine processes to adhere with security controls

    • Tableau reporting experience

    • Python scripting experience/knowledge
