Commodity Manager II-Hybrid

Job Description

Hybrid: Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

This position as a Commodity Manager is responsible for developing, managing and implementing strategies for the electronics category for items such as semiconductors, microcircuits, and passives. The incumbent will:

• Manage relationships with our key suppliers.

• Be an escalation point in resolving supply problems as they arise, working with the Buyer and Planning team to identify and close supply gaps.

• Key suppliers in this category will include our Preferred Distributors as well as Original Component Manufacturers.

• Assist in the formulation and implementation of sourcing strategies.

• Participate on cross-functional teams to ensure that BAE Systems is leveraging spend and identifying best value.

• Drive to best practices and improve overall supplier performance management.

• Participate in multi-site Long Term Supplier Agreement negotiations.

All of this is accomplished following established and approved procurement policies and procedures in order to provide the lowest cost consistent with quality and service requirements while maintaining good supplier relations. This position works closely with many internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to supply chain management, supplier quality, manufacturing, and programs.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelors Degree and 6 years of work experience in supply chain, or associate degree and 8 years of experience in supply chain. Preferably within aerospace and defense industries.

• Ability to execute/ oversee the direct procurement of electronic parts.

• Familiarity with FAR/DFAR regulations and Export Control requirements.

• Strong negotiation background. (Supplier agreements)

• Technical aptitude.

• Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills.

• Work effectively in a team environment.

• Proven problem-solving capabilities.

• Have hands-on experience with MRP systems.

• Experienced with Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• APICS or ISM Supply Chain related certifications.

• Green Belt/Black Belt Certification.

• Oracle ERP Experience.

• Leadership experience- will act as the SME for the commodity team.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $88900 - $151100

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
