5 Jobs You Could Do From The Beach

If you are getting hit with spring fever, here are some jobs you can do from the beach

It's starting to warm up outside and it looks like spring might be here before you know it. I don't know about you, but after a long, cold winter, I start dreaming of the sun and sand. In my daydreams, I run off to a tropical beach and never come back. So, I was thinking what sort of jobs can you do from the beach?

Sure, there are many tourism related jobs at almost any vacation destination with the ability to enjoy the sun while still earning a living. But, with modern technology, all you need is a laptop and an internet connection to set up your office from a lounge chair in the sand. I can't imagine how amazing it must be to have such a gorgeous office view.

So, to help ward off Spring Fever, here are some great jobs you can do from the beach:

  • Real Estate Agent – Real estate isn't necessarily something you can do remotely, it is a career that you can practice virtually anywhere. Resort locations and oceanfront areas offer tons of opportunities in vacation home sales and those areas can even be some of the most expensive real estate markets in the world. The downside would be that you would have to get licensed in the particular area. Also, you might not have a lot of time to lay in a lounge chair when you are showing properties.

  • Vacation Home Caretaker – I was surprised to learn that many wealthy people who own vacation homes also hire someone to look after them when they aren't there. There is an entire industry of people who take care of vacation homes. Although, they don't spend much time just laying around; caretakers are responsible for just about everything that is involved in taking care of a home. From overseeing repairs to stocking the liquor cabinets, these people have a lot on their plate. The upside is that their office is a luxurious beach house.

  • Market Research Analyst – Especially with the rise of social media, companies are looking for ways to expand and reach new customers. This means that they are always going to want to have a market analyst. These analysts track customer data and market research to find out where there is room to grow and how many new customers can be reached. This is definitely one job that you can actually do with just a computer and internet access.

  • Freelance Writer or Editor – Many magazines and publishers are beginning to hire more freelance writers than ever before. This allows them to get the best people without having to find desk space for them or provide benefits. So, if you are going to work for yourself, you might as well do it somewhere you like. Although this is another job that you can do from a lounge chair at the beach; depending upon what you write about, you may need to be closer to where the action is.

  • Translator – With translation, you can be a translator for tourists or you could be a freelance translator who translates documents. Either way, you can do this from the beach. When you work with tourists, your office is wherever they want to go. As for freelancing, you can do this from the comfort of a lounge chair in the sand. All you need is a laptop and an internet connection.

If you are thinking that it would be great to work outside of an office cubicle but don't think it is possible, try thinking a little more creatively and I'm sure you can find a way to do what you love in an atmosphere that you love.
