The SysOps Engineer provides information technology support and administration for Comsearch and reports to the Operations Manager. The successful candidate has demonstrated knowledge and experience working with all aspects of system and networking administration, including but not limited to provisioning, installation, configuring, operation, and maintenance of both the systems and applications in a hybrid cloud-based/on-premises environment. The SysOps Engineer will be responsible for executing, testing, and rolling out solutions to support the infrastructure at Comsearch, as well as infrastructure for individual projects and scenarios in the cloud, in addition to other duties as assigned.
Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinates with development and operations to ensure that requirements from development are understood and implemented as expected
Coordinates with IT Vendors and ensures they are meeting expectations
Implements services on a Cloud Platform and integrates them with back office processes
Manages issues in a ticket tracking system and assign priority
Gathers requirements to define a solution to be built and operated
Provisions operates and maintains systems
Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.
AWS Architect / SysOps certification and/or experience with the following:
Providing AWS operations and deployment experience with Amazon Web Services EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, Route53, S3, and other AWS Services â€¢Creating automated deployment and testing environments.
Deploying, managing, and operating scalable / highly available / fault tolerant systems on AWS
Migrating existing on-premise applications and services to AWS
Selecting the appropriate AWS service based on compute; data; or security requirements
Identifying appropriate use of AWS operational best practices
One or more years of hands-on experience operating AWS-based applications Experience with Docker â€¢Expert level Linux/Unix command line and comfortable working with Windows â€¢Knowledgeable and able to use Internet Technologies such as HTTP, DNS, DHCP, TCP, IP etc.
Experience with installing and configuring Apache and Tomcat
Ability to thrive in a constantly changing technical environment with shifting priorities Experience with supporting mission critical software
Skill and drive to own and solve complex issues with minimal oversight
Ability and desire to learn and apply new knowledge and engineering concepts as it relates to the business
Additional skills that are preferred:
Administering LDAP and Active Directory
Experience managing Postgresql, MySQL
Experience with Terraform or other IaC
Experience with Solaris OS
Experience with AWS hybrid cloud environment
DevOps tooling such as Chef and Jenkins and BitBucket, Maven, JIRA, Confluence, Docker
Familiarity with DevOps Toolchain "Code, Build, Test, Package, Release, Configure, Monitor" and Agile method.

Schedule Mon - Fri 8-5 (flexible)- on site full time to start and than ok with remote 2-3 days per week
