What you'll learn & achieve:
Provide technical expertise, coaching and guidance to less experienced engineers for the use of the Medini Analyze tool for safety requirements specification, safety architecture specification and performing safety analyses (qualitative and quantitative). Support the technical relationship with ANSYS for the efficient use and constant improvement of the Medini Analyze tool as used by our engineers. Lead development of safety requirements, safety architectures, safety analyses, and safety testing strategies for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicle safety systems, including electrical hardware and software safety activities. Support with development of new technical capabilities in the area of autonomous vehicle safety assurance, including work product templates, guidelines and best practices. Provide technical leadership and deep expertise on ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 automotive safety standard. Coach less experienced engineers and customers on calculation of hardware safety metrics for safety critical electrical and electronic hardware, including explanation of the underlying concepts and theory. Perform independent reviews and provide feedback on quantitative safety analyses like FMEDA and quantitative FTA. Lead the development of new functional safety training materials and examples for ISO 26262, ISO 21448 and UL 4600 functional safety and autonomy safety standards for the purpose of educating industry engineering professionals and leaders. This position qualifies for UL LLC's employee referral policy program.
What makes you a great fit:
Master's degree in electrical engineering or automotive engineering and 3 years of experience in functional safety or automotive electronics testing
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or automotive engineering and 7 years of experience in functional safety or automotive electronics testing
Must have work experience with each of the following: 1) safety requirements and system architecture development using Medini Analyze; 2) ADAS and Autonomy System Safety; 3) ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 safety standards; 4) calculate hardware metrics using FTA and FMEDA; and 5) developing functional safety training materials.
